Strength in Weakness: Failing Faithfully in Medical Missions
A calling to serve in severely medically under-resourced settings invariably means facing our own weakness. Christianity proclaims that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness, which is an essential promise for a medical missions worker, and one that needs reflection to start to understand. Without diminishing the mystery of God's work in glorifying himself through our weakness, this session has a goal of exploring some ways that this dynamic plays out in medical missions, helping us to imagine how it might also be true in other ways. A deep understanding of this dynamic forms part of the necessary theological framework Christians need to persevere in areas of immense suffering.
