My students and I were conducting a mobile medical clinic in a poor area outside Lima, Peru. The conditions were difficult. The pastor of the local church was the host and he was telling me that he was about to go on a mission trip to visit the "poor." I was struck by the thought that I was visiting the poor and that they didn't think of themselves as poor - they were reaching out to others. Amazing.
