Cultural Promotion of the Nurse Practitioner Role

This breakout session will discuss the practical ways in which a nurse practitioner can assist government agencies, hospitals and other health care professionals to understand how the NP can be used in a variety of settings. The role of NP is not widely used or understood so successful integration into a new setting relies on effective communication and establishing the role. Cultural issues contribute to some of the challenges and obstacles that need to be addressed and examples will be given based on the setting of one Arabian Peninsula country.
